ARLINGTON, Texas — February 20, 2006 — Intura Solutions, LP, a leading supplier of point-of-sale and management software for restaurants operating delivery and quick service concepts, today announced the addition of biometric fingerprint security to Intura Vision. The new fingerprint authentication method was launched along with a new release of Intura Vision on February 19th and 20th at the North American Pizza & Ice Cream Show held in Columbus, Ohio.
Intura Vision now offers three methods of user authentication that also includes employee magnetic swipe cards and the entry of a User ID/Password combination by the employee. All three methods provide users the ability to login to each Vision module, assign delivery orders to a driver, route a driver back in to the store, assign cash drops and all other special access security requirements.
“Using a fingerprint to access system features and time and attendance adds an additional level of security that the other methods don’t offer.” stated Gary W. Peek II, president of Intura Solutions. “Employees won’t have to worry about forgetting their password or having someone steal their password by looking over their shoulder. Employers won’t have to worry about an employee having another employee clock them in advance of their shift.”
The fingerprint reader utilizes the U.are.U technology developed by Digital Persona and is available as an integrated solution with Posiflex workstations as well as a standalone version from Microsoft.
“Many of our customers have requested fingerprint security built in to Vision.” says Steve Richardson, vice president of sales and marketing for Intura Solutions. “We are excited about bringing this feature, in addition to 75 other enhancements, to the Intura Vision product.”
Intura Vision is scheduled for release on February 27th and will be made available at no additional charge for Intura customers on the Premier Maintenance plan through the Intura web site.
